TALES OF THE ACCIDENTAL CITY with Maimouna Jallow

In this experimental comedy, originally written for the stage in the unusual format of a VC call, four residents of Nairobi share their stories with an anger management counselor. As they share their stories of how they ended up in the court-ordered session, they tackle the heavy subjects which led to their rage and are encouraged to replace the feeling with courage.

About Anna Marano:

Anna brings extensive experience in international marketing in the media and finance industries, most recently as Development Executive at IncuBeta Films. Previously she was founder and manager of Dada Productions, which produced three films targeted to the African market during her tenure. Marano is also a former research analyst for the renowned hedge fund, John Paulson Europe LLP and freelance producer / journalist for Reuters-TV’s Africa Journal.
A graduate of the Bocconi University in Milan (Italy) where she double-majored in Applied Economics and Politics, Marano began her career as a documentary filmmaker. She is also an alum of the London Film Academy’s producing course.

About Sydney Wanguhu:

Sydney is a student at Cal State University, in Los Angeles, majoring in Journalism. In addition to co-hosting on the Pan African Film Podcast, Sydney has worked for a media non profit, initially as a media journalism teacher. She currently enjoys creating her own personal projects for the arts and culture department.
